So despite my husband’s half-hearted protests I’m starting on the MPCNC today. I’m going with a purple theme (after I finish the spool of black).  I will post progress pictures here as it comes along.

Has anyone had any luck painting the conduit?

Ryan used some kind of steel dye on his steel build. the conduit’s coating comes off under the pressure of the bearings, so I doubt the paint will stick. Maybe it just smooshes it down? You can always try it another piece of conduit is $10.

Thanks, I’ll mess around with it but that’s still a long way off I’m only at part 4 out of a million.

    Is that concentric infill?

Yes it is, I normally use honeycomb but concentric gives a better finish.

The paint might look okay you will just have three little stripes of shiny metal. I would use regular rectangular infill for the rest of the parts concentric doesn’t give you enough strength I don’t think. You can use it for the top and bottom layers just not the infill.

I’m also think that concentric infill isn’t good idea here. It’s better to use simple grid infill.

Nice! I’m in the Riverside county area and will start my build as soon as the store gets stocked up.  Just got the spindle and PLA in from Amazon so I’ll starting printing this week.  I wonder if there is a SoCal group or any interest among the local members.

Looking good!  If you’re going to be carving, might want to shorten the legs down.

The first project I have is a large 3d print but if I find stability an issue I’ll lower it. Thanks!

Very nice.  I also am in Riverside city proper, just off the 91.  And I am also starting a build, gathering the parts together and started the 3d printing.  I expect to be done sometime around summer time.

I’m about to join the SoCal group. ?

The store is stocked!! Just ordered my kit. Thanks Ryan!

Got the spindle & PLA last week. Just started printing parts on Wednesday.

Hopefully I’ll be assembling next weekend.

I’m in Menifee off the 215. Probably a half hour or so from you two. Might have to do a meet up sometime over a drink and talk shop.

I left my husband in charge of printing parts so I have two extra “c roller m” parts if any socal builders needs it

I’m interested in joining the So Cal Group. I’m a retired Rockwell Collins EE and retirement can get boring with nothing pressing to do. (Other than honey-do’s,not much fun there.) My MPCNC is up and running and every day I learn something new and forget something I did know. It would be nice meet and to bounce questions and ideas of live people too. I spent a lot of time driving from Glendora to Riverside Airport in the 90’s were I had an Avionics shop. This is the first that I’ve heard of it.

I’m having some issues with everything being more.. wobbly then I’d like. I’m thinking about adding supports like this, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1730371 Does anyone have any luck with this or should I just lower the whole thing?
