    Would using flexible steel cables and some turnbuckles be useful in ensuring the Y axis remains square?

    With appropriate pulleys you could make it so if you pushed on only one side of the table instead of twisting the opposite side is pulled appropriately too. Worthwhile?

    The steppers have 100 steps/mm and move in lock step. Once they are energized, they keep it as square as it started.
