    They say aluminium is too soft for the pressure applied by the bearings housed in the plastic parts.

    I’ve used $10 Bunnings 1″ OD 1m galvanised tubing. The zinc peels after running in the machine, but after a vacuum it appears to work OK and is slightly cheaper than the quote you got.

    Sweet as I’ve just done some more searching and found the following.

    I’m not sure on the thickness but it is the right size OD 25mm for what I printed.
    Do you reckon that maybe suitable?

    Not sure, at 165g for 90cm it seems a little thin. I saw a lot of that sort of tubing in the Aus. store and I could squeeze it out of shape even with my feeble hands. You will need tubes that show no compression when squeezed. Damn my feeble hands.
